where do you have to be in life to undermine someone else’s success and completely overshadow their achievements? why is it such a hard concept to understand, that the entire world doesn’t just revolve around one singular group of people? that woman that interviewed monsta x was so incredibly disrespectful to them and completely overlooked them and how far they’ve come just to talk about bts. because all that matters is bts, clearly.
i swear to god western people (mostly americans tbh) are too caught up in the hype around bts and their generic ass music to even notice that they aren’t the only kpop group currently in existence. they just assume that every single fucking idol is bts because obviously they’re the most talented and popular.
“paved the way for other artists” MY FUCKING ASS THEY DID. ever heard of bigbang, girls generation, 2ne1, super junior? literal fucking legends that have been here for 10+ years? probably not, because you’re too far up bts’ and your own ass to delve into other groups.
i’m not hating on bts. yeah, they’ve done some great things and come so far in the last 5 years and have become so popular globally and that’s amazing for them and the kpop industry. but because of that, every other group is overshadowed and doesn’t get the same recognition that bts has received, and everyone just disregards them in favour of bts.
sure, they’ve been to the billboards and won awards, namjoon spoke at the un (which was so amazing and made me cry), they’ve been nominated for a fucking grammy (probably multiple but honestly idc), they’ve been on tour and they’ve just done so fucking much for people and yes it’s great.
but every other group out there is just as talented and amazing as they are. all these groups that have come both before and after them deserve the same amount of respect that these self-absorbed assholes give to bts. they aren’t the only kpop group out there, but that’s all people can see.
monsta x have worked so damn hard to get to where they are now, being the first ever kpop group to perform at the jingle ball in nyc. they’ve deserved more since their debut and haven’t been recognised as well as they should’ve been for their talents and incredible music. and now that they’ve come this far and are performing in america, these asshole interviewers are completely disrespecting them and their achievements just so they can babble on about bts and how amazing they are instead.
bts aren’t the only kpop group out there. every other group deserves to be respected and admired for their achievements and success, not ignored in favour of another group just because they’re more popular.
in short, stan monsta x. bts are hyped up too much. armies suck, and so does that bitch ass interviewer. i hope you like my foot in your ass because honey that’s what you’re getting for christmas this year.
